About VisaBacklog

Green card and USCIS wait times, measured from the official record.

VisaBacklog keeps a public record of the U.S. Visa Bulletin and USCIS's own processing-time reports: every category, every country, every month, going back to 2001. The green card wait time pages track how far behind a category and country's cutoff date is, and how fast it's been moving. The USCIS processing times pages do the same for individual forms.

Why there's no byline

This site is published anonymously, on purpose. An unverifiable credential claim, such as "reviewed by an immigration attorney," is worse than no credential at all, because there's no way for a reader to check it. Instead, every page carries its own source: a link to the exact bulletin or report it's built from, and to an archived copy when that's how the figure was recovered. Trust here is meant to rest on that, not on who wrote it.

What this site is not

VisaBacklog is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and nothing here should be read as a prediction of what will happen to any individual case. Backlog, pace, and projected-wait figures are arithmetic on the government's own published numbers; see the methodology page for exactly what each one means and doesn't mean.

Corrections

If a figure here doesn't match what the Department of State or USCIS published, email [email protected] with the page and what looks wrong, and we'll check it against the original source.
